SEO Tips for Meta Description Tags
The meta description tage for a web page is found in the header part of each web page, and can be located in the html source code as starting with <meta name=”description”.
The use of these SEO meta tags has dwindled over recent years (due to spammers) as search engines are choosing to read the page content as a preference for pulling page related results, however they still have a visual use for pulling in visitors when you have a page that is text free, say loaded with images or video.
How can it do this? Well the tag itself is displayed under the blue hyper linked title of the page in the SERP's, and if well written it can enocurage the searcher to click on your link.
