The start of the web design process

There is a lot of work involved in starting up a web design project, which a lot of people don’t realise. This may help to clarify a few areas for some people.

Step 1 : Gathering information from client

Firstly the web designer or developer will need to gather information to enable the start of the project or the proposal to be given. Usually this will mean the client will need to fill out a questionnaire, and talk to the web developer on the phone or in person to run through the needs of the client.

Step 2 : Research

The next step is to work out the best solution for the client, and if there is to be a internet marketing plan attached such as seo services, then research into the competitiveness of keywords and pay per click campaigns would also need to be done.

Step 3 : Proposal

A proposal must be made up to give the client an idea of what can be done within the budget that they have. This will usually outline the steps taken during the design process, what would be included, and what parts of the project are not included but are optional extras charged accordingly.

A proposal can be quite a small or very detailed, depending on the clients requirements, and the attention to detail by the developer. This stage is also a good opportunity to make sure that everyone has the same ideas and would like to see that the development process goes in the direction that everyone would like.

Step 4: Contract Signing

The last step before development begins is to have a contract signed by both parties to make sure that everything is followed and that both parties are legally committed to the project. A solid contract can save a lot of disagreement later on down the track if it includes all of the portions of the web design that are to be included.

Finally after all of this has occurred the web design can finally commence
